What are the valve clearances for SJ 413 Samurai ( 1298cc ) G13BA , I did a web search and have found many different answers. Yeah, dragged the Mrs in the garage to check, Took the drive pinion out and it looks fine so it's the worst case scenario - the worm is worn out !! I can just see inside and there is definitely a large groove worn in the gear . Can the worm be changed without taking the TB out and stripping it down ?

Unfortunately it's not the cable, the flat drive for the cable is turning freely, how easy is it to change the speedo drive pinionor worst case scenario it's the driver, gulp!

Spot on, thanks for your help once again.

I found an air leak in one of the breathers making it run a little lean, fixed that and now it seems happy at 50 - 55mph, which I am happy with.
It still sounds like it is drawing air in somewhere from around the inlet side of the engine but can't find exactly where.
