Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
That worked! Stat out, new sealant and a top up in the rad and running perfectly. I might just leave it as is until winter. Good that it's dropped the temp. It's a lot of engine in a small engine bay so with the current heatwave it's probably struggling. Has the running/spluttering issue improved?

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
I'd whip the stat out and see if that helps with the cooling.
If it does , i could have a look in the book at work for you and see if there's a suitable replacement that opens up at a lower temp, thus dropping the heat earlier.

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
I never had an issue with mine on the sj rad.
Bit the lj engine bay is a lot small compared with an sj engine bay.
Is the old rad in good condition?
Tried running it with the thermostat out?

The worst Jimny, for sale
Was offered cheap and delivered from a mate. Sadly it's rotten being from a coastal location and has been rather abused by it former owner. It's been used on shooting ranges and is a busted mess. Not much redeeming features appear from the windscreen which Will be removed and put into my better half...

Re: Th SJ is back!
I wonder if the soon to be old Jimny will be built in the maruti factory? Was talking about cars with the other half a few days ago. Which of our past cars was Favourite/worst/fastest/memorable. And her Jimny she has now is her favourite ,She loves it more than she thought she would. Going to be a t...

Re: Th SJ is back!
They will probably produce it for about 20 years. So maybe getting it right is a good thing. Amazing to think the Jimny is 20 years old.
But have they thought about rust protection?

Re: Andys dabble in disco land.
The question is tho , Did I enjoy it more than an SJ? I'd say it's close but I'd say an sj is more of a giggle due to how awful the ride is. And how revvy the engines are. To compare the two is night and day. The discos low range is very low and most stuff is done under 1500rpm due to the big old cl...
