Re: G16 into sj410 info
My '85 Jap 410 already has a 1.3 5spd in it, so not totally original anyway. So I got to thinking maybe a Vit 1.6. First thing is there are 8v and 16v Vit engines around and also maybe carb and F/I variants. I'm actually quite happy with a well-sorted carb set-up (got SU on at moment) but what is re...

Re: SJ410 door refurb
my winders are Ok Donkey - it's the channel that bolts along top that I need one of - it's not mounted on the winder in your pic. I'll try India Maruti I think and it might be the one in the door coming off is Ok.

SJ410 door refurb
Just refurbing driver door and need the top rail of winder assembly that the window slots into - this thing (marked with red arrow): ww1.jpg this one isn't mine, mine is so rusted there's almost none left. Also may need some door hinge bolts. And, any advice where best to get the door seal and windo...

Re: SJ noisy final drive
Hi Andy - it's low speeds, in traffic or dropping from say 30 to stop. We put a new clutch in only about 1k miles ago (well, you did really !).
Fine accelerating, it's only when engine is acting as a brake, then disconnect engine (drop clutch), all fine again.

SJ noisy final drive
Hi all, sorry been away from here, busy but the 85 SJ going good, generally. (This is a 2wd road condition) Have a noise - at low speeds: take foot off accelerator but leave clutch engaged (so engine is braking a bit) - sounds rough, a bit graunchy. Drop the clutch and freewheel, all is calm, noise ...

Re: New member, not yet an owner.
Hi, welcome etc!! My only advice would be really try and be patient. The odds of the first one you see being the right or best one are almost nil. I know this because....?? Patience will pay big rewards in terms of the value you get, and if you have looked at a few you'll soon know the good uns. Bro...

Re: samurai lwb - extremely clean FOR SALE
Technical question - is that a poppy on the front bumper? Someone will bite your hand off for that ;) I realise you are passing this on, but before the proud new owner does a clutch check the cable and adjust or replace - I put a new clutch in mine recently cos the old was high so I assumed - and th...
