Re: Anyone Own A Nice Unmolested Basically Stock SJ On Here?

Kept my Samurai pretty well stock.

Fitted Vitara power steering, leather front seats, hard top and polly bushes on the springs and that's about it.

Re: Clutch Alignment Tool

I've had a bit of a clutch year, done 4, 2 Fiestas, a Focus and a Xantia. I've got a "proper" tool which comes with various adapters and sleeves but none of them seemed to be the right size for what I've had to do this year so ended up doing them all by eye. Seemed to work just as well as ...

Re: Charge Light Glowing but Alternator OK

Thanks Chaps very reassuring to know its sort of normal. I'll leave it alone for now. If I get bored I might get the wiring diagrams out and work out where the problem might be should decide to go and look for it sometime when the warm sunny days return.

Charge Light Glowing but Alternator OK

Went out in the Samurai yesterday for the first time in a while. Lousy weather here so I had the heater fan on full blast, wipers on as well as the headlights. Noticed that the charge light was glowing slightly, more so with more electrical load. Not bright but definitely on. Got the volt meter out ...

SJ Samurai Revival

Tame stuff compared to some on here but I thought I would post up a few pictures of my SJ Samurai. Not quite as pretty as it was when I first got it back on the road in Feb. It started out as an ebay indiscretion, bid low, didn't expect to win, bought unseen. It had been used to pull a boat in and o...

Re: i ave electrical problem

Could be a chaffed wire somewhere that shorts out when it moves with the vibration from the engine. I’m afraid something like that usually takes a lot of chasing down.

Re: Engine Mis-Fire

I really know that but as a change in circumstances mean my build has gone from what I wanted to a no cost and only what is already in the garage option a new carb is off the agenda. Guess I will live with it for now and keep an eye out for a carb in the future.
