yer, i wouldnt recomend running without a balast resistor for long. my balast resistor was never connected and ive just started driving it. it gave in the other day while driving, so i replaced the points and condenser and now it runs but when i reconect the balast resistor the engine doesnt turn as...

balast resistor? i think mine has one but its not wired in so maby theres a way to bypass it.

woohooo!!!! ive managed to insure myself,,, well actually my dad did. im with the co-op and i am a named driver on my dads policy. :salute: not insured for off road use though of course.

thanks, you made a good point, any car has the potentioal to cause a lot of damage in an accident no matter how cheap the car is. of course though it can happen to anyone thats why there called accidents. in poland i think everyone pays the same amount of money for insurance no matter how old/young ...

thanks for all the help people theres some really great input here. im still going to try my best to get my sj insured but if worst comes to worst it looks like i might have to sell it, its a shame because i was looking foreward to the december meet up. when i bought it origionaly i had cheap insura...

About 4-5 grand, at first I found a 2 grand one on a comparison website but that quote expired and I can't get it back, even that though was through being a named driver on my dads insurance.
