Re: SJ410 Engine Transplant
Hi Scottie, sorry for the late reply.
I'm in Worcestershire, not a million miles from you. If you do have a 410 back box I'd be very interested. Cheers, Michael.

Re: SJ410 Engine Transplant
An update on my SJ410: we've pretty much sorted the engine out now and were just at the point of setting up the carb when we realised that the back box has popped. Not something that can be welded, so my question is does anyone have one? (Will post separately in the right section of the Forum for th...

Re: SJ410 Engine Transplant
Yes, putting back the F10a looks like the logical thing to do. It's tired though and when I bought it I drove it from Slough to my place in Worcestershire and it struggled on even quite modest inclines and dumped its engine oil so quite a bit to think about. That said, it has been really well looked...

Re: SJ410 Engine Transplant
Thanks for that Scottie
The more I think about it, the more I'm inclined towards a rebuild of the existing F10a. From what I can see there are only 7 SJ410 VWs on the road, with a larger number on SORN.
The advice you've given is really helpful.
Thanks again!

Re: SJ410 Engine Transplant
Thanks, that's a hell of a lot of useful information! Much appreciated. This 410 doesn't have the metal dash though, not sure what difference that makes in terms of other factors in an engine upgrade. We've been over it with a fine toothed comb; it's been really well looked after and the bodywork is...

Re: SJ410 Engine Transplant
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Would this do the job:https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-Grand-Vitara-Mk2-98-05-1-6-Engine-G16B-Jimny-conversion-kit-ECU-kit-key/174606784597? As you say, I'd still need a gearbox and adaptor plate. Presumably the gearbox needs to be an SJ413 box or are there othe...

SJ410 Engine Transplant
Hi All I have a newly acquired 1983 SJ410 VW in really nice order but with a very tired engine. You can see it here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-SJ410-4x4-1983-/363269186699?nma=true&si=nGh5U8IkOK3GvWVdcnFWLnTv87g%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 ...
