Re: MOT Failure would be an understatement

After a busy month or so... the SJ lives on! I managed to source a complete rear axle from Spain, got that fitted and managed to get it through its test. So it's now at least driveable and useable. Spent this week bringing some shine back to the paintwork as it was incredibly flat. Still a few bits ...

Re: MOT Failure would be an understatement

Your propshaft doesnt bolt up to the new diff pinion because it has a different flange size. On the 410 there's also 2 different sizes. Early 410 with skinny propshafts have a smaller flange pattern again, smaller than the common 410/413/samurai 56x56mm (8mm bolts) That one I think. From what I gat...

Re: MOT Failure would be an understatement

Apparently the diff housing on the casing I'd bought was a different diameter to the housing that was connected to the shaft so I've been told...

Re: MOT Failure would be an understatement

Sorry for the late reply... Quick update: bought a casing but it didn't fit. It wouldn't connect the diff to the shaft? Currently its 30 miles away at a garage near to my parents (set my dad on as project manager). I'm now on the hunt for a complete rear axle. Don't suppose anyone has one lying arou...

Re: MOT Failure would be an understatement

Quick update - I've been told that I need a new axle because the old one is leaking and it's not holding fluid? This is where I'm out of my depth if I'm honest. I've currently left the car with my dad as I'm at work all day so I don't have the time to take it anywhere. Found an axle casing - is this...

MOT Failure would be an understatement

So I got my Sj410 tested over the weekend. I knew that there was a problem with the axle (as in it wasn't really attached to much) and the tyres weren't the best. I'd planned on getting both of these repaired and I've got a set of u bolts and leaf spring perches to tighten everything back up... But ...

Hi from Sheffield

Hi, I'm looking for people that know lots about Suzuki's as I'm not very clued up - I've owned a few second hand modern classics recently and vowed to hang up my bargain purchase gloves... Until I spotted a yellow SJ 410 for sale I couldn't resist! I went and bought it with no background knowledge o...
