I have the same problem on my 87 sj413. To be honest I do not even know where to start with them. I have an aftermarket fuel tank too, so how do I conmect a fuel gauge to his aftermarket item. Also where is the temp gauge located?
Cheers

Re: handbrake

Re: Bits and bobs - rear fog light wiring, horn etc.
hi guys, horn is def not in middle of horn as its a hollow void where the bolt to hold the steering wheel is. The left stalk does push in a tiny bit, but literally half a mm. so from this I thought that there is no way it was the horn, but it must be really as there is no other place that it can be....

I have a sj413 jx 1987 with the band brake going to a drum just off the transfer case. I know that there is a small bolt that you can turn in order to adjust the shoes etc, but for the life of me i cant budge it. What else can I do. I did have prop off a while back but was unsure of how to get the d...

Bits and bobs - rear fog light wiring, horn etc.
I guess my first issue is where is the horn button on an 1987 sj413 jx? I literally have no idea. I think I need one for the MOT so its one of those things that I just needd to fix. I tried to wire up a rear fog today, the fog light is existing on the car however the wires have been chopped which is...

Re: Engine trouble. Need help urgently!
Muddy kev great shout. I have just looked on the net and there is holts wondarweld which looks pretty good. As you say its worth a bash to see if it helps at all. If it fails then new head gasket, if it works then fantastic. It will not do it any harm.
Thanks for the heads up

Re: Engine trouble. Need help urgently!
Gutted, I guess I will have to get that sorted out then. Is there anyway of running it with the gasket gone for a bit as I just want to get it on the road and am hating all these set backs. When I have driven it up my lane to test it, it just feels so un road worthy, like lots of clanks at a fair bi...

Re: Engine trouble. Need help urgently!
So the engine was running beautifully the past few times that I have had it going. When I turn it off however and then come back to it and try to start it again it sometimes will and sometimes wont start. It mainly sounds like there is not enough power getting to the starter to turn the engine prope...

Re: Engine trouble. Need help urgently!
The thing is that I have only recently changed my starter, it was for a second hand one, but it seems to be working, right now im putting it down to dodge battery. I will try to get it started again and leave it on for a good while then see if it starts again etc. If I still have an issue I will no ...

Oh also this is where the noise is coming from (the wet on it is not leaking from the joint btw).
