Thanks. That's why I can't find one then lol. My old SJ was far from original so you're likely correct in your assumption it was retro-fitted.I'll take a look at the horn buttons and associated stuff in the steering wheel.
Thanks again.

jimny horn relay location
Hi folks, Greetings from North Wales. I'm slowly going insane trying to find the horn relay for our RHD 2002 Jimny JLX. I've looked under the bonnet, under the dash (both sides) and have now come to the conclusion that it may not have such a relay. However, as my old SJ had a horn relay, I would exp...

Re: jimny brake plate seals
Don't bother, it was the oil seal that covers the bearing that had come away from the bearing and stuck into the brake plate when I was dismantling it all. lol Only several wasted hours of trawling the internet for pictures and part numbers!!

jimny brake plate seals
Hi folks.I posted this by mistake in the SJ section but I think this is a specific Jimny enquiry so here it is in the correct place I'm replacing rear wheel bearings on my 2002 Jimny. As part of that job I have obviously purchased new half-shaft oil seals. However, on the rear of my brake plate, I h...

seal/gasket in the back of rear brake plate
Hi folks. I m replacing rear wheel bearings on my 2002 Jimny. As part of that job I have obviously purchased new half-shaft oil seals. However, on the rear of my brake plate, I have a seal.gasket that sits on the outside of the axle and fits into the concave pressing of the brake plate. It is made o...

Re: wire identification help please
Here is an update re orange wires. I saw a Jimny the other day that is a 2001 model (mine is a 2000 ) with an M series engine (mine is a 2000 with a belt) and I asked the owner if I could pop the bonnet and look. Lo and behold the thick orange wire was attached to one of the thin ones and the other ...

Re: Greetings from Wales
hi, good point. I guess it is always a trade off, between on-road, off-road. They are both tremendous vehicles and I was so impressed with the the performance of my SJ. Only 970cc but fun fun fun whether chasing things on road or climbing Welsh mountains, I do wish the jimny had less plastic bits on...

Re: Greetings from Wales
Re Jimny not as good, I would argue different strengths, different weaknesses. By 16 years old my SJs (both soft-tops) had started to dissolve body wise whereas my Jimny which is never washed, lives outdoors near the sea etc is still very good in that area. The Jimny is certainly not as adept in ext...

Re: wire identification help please
Cheers. I was struggling to find a diagram for that. The 2 thin wires and the thicker one are going into the part of the harness making it difficult to have an idea of what they're powering or where they come from. The thickest orange wire is the same diameter as the the blue and blue black ones. I'...

wire identification help please
Hello/Helo Everyone. I've had an issue with the relays under the bonnet of my RHD 2000 W reg jimny. Wires from the ECU or main relay were corroded and stopping stuff working including the fuel-pump which resulted in a roadside breakdown and a recovery truck to take me home. In my haste to fix it I c...
