Sourcing a rear propshaft
Hi, it's been a long time since I've needed to ask for advice from this forum. Just goes to show how little trouble my Jimny has given me over the years. I have a vibration caused by my rear propshaft and my mechanic has handed my car back saying he couldn't find one, and if I can find one online he...

Re: Increasingly worrying and dangerous electrical fault
Bang on. Started with the cheapest fix first. Got a new crank sensor and not had any trouble since.Rhinoman wrote:This is usually a cam or crank sensor fault. The immobiliser is only activated at key on - the light comes on when the ECU believes that the engine is not running.
Thanks very much

Re: Increasingly worrying and dangerous electrical fault
Hi, thanks for the advice. I've just limped miles to my mechanic with the fault in full swing only for the fault to clear as he comes out of his garage. He took it out for a 20 minute drive and nothing. This is crazy. maybe I'll just get the cam and crank shaft sensors replace and look into getting ...

Cheers,
wouldn't a dodgy ECU show p on a diagnostic test?
I thought it might be something to do with the immobiliser. But what???
It gives us something to try.

Increasingly worrying and dangerous electrical fault
Hi, I have a recurring fault that is getting more frequent and as a result more dangerous. I think it's electrical and may have something to do with the central locking system. As I'm driving along the engine starts to misfire and lose power. The engine management light and the central locking light...

Mysterious missing fuse
Hi, The engine management warning light came on on my Jimny the other day and I worked out that it was because I hadn't screwed the fuel cap on properly (cheers internet, I didn't know that could be a cause, I wonder how many people have been charged £30 for some mechanic to tighten up their fuel ca...

Hi from The River Avon
Hi, looking forward to getting some useful, friendly advice. Just bought a 2002 Jimny Special and I'm having a lot of fun already. Not offroading just commuting and occasionally driving through a muddy field to get to my boat. It needs a little attention and I have NOOOO clue about cars but I'm up f...
