Spot on trotter the spade connector was off.
I pulled the fuel through, and after a couple of cranks she fired, bit lumpy but cleared and now idles sweet. Cheers guys.

I've done some snooping and found this, I've been told there are 2 alternators for my sj. A Lucas or a Bosch so I googled it and this came up looks like what I need.
