No, I only have the Suzuki manuals. Be aware that the wiring diagram for the later SPI is in the immobiliser supplement here: http://rhinoman.org/manuals/vitara/99501_60G10.pdf

Yes you can't get closed cell foam now that doesn't suffer the problems of the old PU stuff, unfortunately what you have used is the old PU stuff.

i will probably end up putting or at least trying to put in a xjs jag v12's i have availible. The 3rd option would be the v12 but i dont think there will be anywhere to sit if i fit that :p There won't be a lot of space with the XJS gearbox and the exhaust manifolds come down were the chassis rails...

While you are at the dealer you should check on the terms of the warranty, they used to require a separate body service to maintain the corrosion warranty which isn't well publicised. Suzukis tend to be a bit light on rust proofing, its well worth having a waxoyl treatment or similar. A good coating...

On my Vitara the front number plate that i bought from Halfords they stuck it on with special heavy duty plastic double sided tape,my initial thoughts that it would drop off after a short while but it did stay on for about 3 years,as i understand it that is the way that they mount them on the bumpe...

It also says its run with different wheels and tyres for the road. Mind you it also says they came as standard with 13" wheels and the 17s with the tyres that are on it can't be much different to stock diameter despite being described as 'massive'.

Maybe the bad cam was caused by a lack of oil pressure.

Have you checked the crankshaft pulley woodruff key? constantly changing timing is a sign of a wrecked key caused by not tightening the pulley bolt adequately.

EGR improves part throttle efficiency so your fuel economy and throttle response will suffer without it. The idle is controlled by the ECU, you need to determine why its not fuelling correctly. Usual suspects are a bad O2 sensor or a cracked exhaust manifold, it could be a dozen other issues though,...
