Re: Tobago edition samurai k reg mint !!

Its a real beauty, not overdone but tasteful, is it the same inside and standard? as you have not shown the interior. What is the mileage, and does everything work ok, is there any rust? I have had two SJ's and only sold my Samuria last year and still miss it. I am tempted by yours but you will prob...

Re: starter motor problem

My starter solenoid sometimes clicks but doesn't start the engine, can the solenoid be cleaned or improved or does it have to be replaced?

Re: Starter solenoid problem.

Thanks for the info I have printed it out and will fit the 30 amp relay, it seems a good long term and reliable solution which is easily accessible.

Starter solenoid problem.

Often when I turn the key to start my 1992 Samurai there is a click but nothing happens, it does start if I continue trying. The starter motor is very inaccessable below the carb, inlet manifold air cleaner etc. can you remove the solenoid without taking off the starter, and can it be cleaned or ser...

Re: Alternative starter for sj 1.6 conversion

Just to confirm, the starter Valeo D6RA12 is compatible with the starter on my 1992 Suzuki Samurai (Spanish Built) with a 1324 cc engine. My starter solenoid is failing and I need to change it but a new cheap starter seems the way to go for future reliability. Thanks for all the info very helpful, i...

Re: how do I get better mpg with SJ410?

Also remove any unnecessary weight, internal roll bar, bull bar, tow bar and carry minimum junk you need for peace of mind. Only buy the petrol you need for your immediate use, as transporting a full tank of petrol everywhere doesn't help. Of course drive carefully and anticipate road conditions and...

Re: Oil Leak from Rocker cover.

I have cured my leak as you have by fitting a new gasket and smearing both sides lightly with gasket sealer and bolting the cover down lightly and evenly. The cover was fitted by the garage with the oil cap to the front which was not how it was originally fitted, and when bolted down was not aligned...

Re: Oil Leak from Rocker cover.

Have just removed the rocker cover from my Samurai, what a mess, silicon sealer everywhere just plastered on, also gasket split. Took ages to clean cover spick and span. Ordered new gasket from Unipart on Friday afternoon, told will be there at 8.30am Monday, am impressed. Hopefully carefully re-ass...

Re: Oil Leak from Rocker cover.

Thanks, I will be doing it this weekend weather permitting (as my garage is full of junk, including my hard-top and a set of Vitara alloys) I think the garage services don't take enough care and fasten the cover down too tight distorting it, so will try a bit of finess and care, and hope for the bes...

Oil Leak from Rocker cover.

I have a persistant oil leak on my 413 Samurai from the front of my rocker cover after the garage replaced my head gasket. They have tried three times to cure it without success. There is no point in taking it back, so I guess I must try and cure it myself. Has anyone had this problem and are there ...
