Re: Brake fluid
If your vehicle recommends DOT 4 brake fluid then you can use DOT 4 or above! Brake fluid is a hydroscopic liquid and this means it absorbs moisture from the air, as brake fluid gets older the amount of moisture it has absorbed gets high enough that when it gets hot the water boils and turns to a ga...

Re: Calmini Performance exhaust system
Thats a nice looking bit of kit! Is it stainless steel and is it for the 1300cc?? How much is it and where do I get one?? I think it might be a little on the noisy side with just one silencer but I guess you could add more!

Re: No spark!
How embarrassing!! It was something as simple as the rotor arm! I eventually decided to try mine as I thought it looked really grubby and it fired up first time! Note to self... Next time something happens check the simple things first!

No spark!
Hi guys, My mate has an SJ 410 on a 'D' plate. The other day it spluttered for a bit then was ok, then it cut out and after that there was no spark at all! I have done a few checks that I know of and we have replaced the points, condensor and put another coil on it but we still have no spark! Using ...

Weber carb spares?
Hi all, I have a Weber carb on my SJ413 Samurai and like a prat when I was tightening the nut on the top that holds the intake part on I over tightened it and it snapped the part that the screw goes into! Does anyone have one of these for spares? It attaches to the top of the carb by 4 small ...

Re: MPG?
I would much prefer to keep my standard engine but I'm not sure if I can live with the mpg! I'm going to go on a quest to see if I can improve on the efficiency of the standard 1.3! I have a list of ideas so I will give some a goe and keep you all posted!

Re: Snorkel
No I live in Somerset in the south west! I love going up on Exmoor and there is a local tourist attraction called Tarr Steps... There is a 12th century foot bridge there accross a river and you can drive through the river if you have the right vehicle! In the summer it's never more than 18 inches de...

Re: Snorkel
That looks good but I've already been and bought a cone filter to go on top! What other breathers need raising apart from the diffs, transfer box and gearbox? Are there any on the carb that also need raising?

Re: MPG?
So what do we think the answer could be? I hate the idea of getting under 30mpg with any engine be it the standard 1.3 or the Vitara 1.6! I used to have a Peugeot 306 1.9 diesel (non turbo) which happily did 55-60mpg! Has anyone fitted this engine into an SJ before? I know it wouldn't be as good mpg...

MPG?
Hi everyone, I would be very interested if people could post some mpg figures? Together with whatever engine mods you have done. This is my first SJ413 and I'm a little shocked with the amount of fuel it uses! I have a Weber carb fitted and a snorkel but otherwise my engine is pretty standard. I do ...
