Good thought but no I didn't - it now appears to be working okay, it's better than before it went funny on me.

Re: Ideas please with starter motor noise

It now appears to be a coincidence. I removed the starter motor today and operated it on the bench - very lethargic and non-operational. I stripped it down to find it was full of back crud and dry of any lubrication. After a good brush down in petrol I could see that it was really in quite good orde...

Ideas please with starter motor noise

I was unsure whether this really belonged in the electrical section but it's more of a mechanical noise. Today I put the gearbox back in to my 410 after fitting new bearings and seals - no real problems but quite difficult to jack up the gearbox to the correct height and angle on my own but I manage...

Help Please with a gear selector rod problem - NOW RESOLVED

I've just finished rebuilding the gearbox on my 410 - new bearings and oil seals etc with no problems but I've been a bit of a dummy on the selector rods. Without thinking I removed the rubber bung on the side of the tail shaft housing which contains the selector rods and out popped a couple of dete...

Re: fitting a brake servo to a sj410?

Common misconception that servo's increase the power of the brakes - they don't. They are fitted to reduce the amount of effort required by the foot for a given braking effort.

Re: refurbing SJ410 engine? what parts do i need from where?

Hi Jay Remember me - you bought the Suzuki carb from me which I note you are fitting this weekend. Re engine rebuilding - I used Maynard Ltd (Google the name for contact number) who are near Stroud in Gloucestershire, a long way from you I know but they are big in building racing engines as well as ...

Re: Specific info required on a sj410 4 speed gearbox please

Thanks again Darrell - will study everything you've sent me in the morning. I'll start speaking with bearing suppliers tomorrow also. As an aside, my clutch is fine but the release bearing is not too wonderful so I started looking for a supplier for this - couldn't believe the price - over £40.00, w...

SJ410 gearbox bearing Part Numbers

I swear that I bumped in to a listing on the Suzuki Club yesterday but today I just can't find it. Can anyone help please? I just want to compare details against my bearings which need replacing.

Thanks

Ian

Specific info required on a sj410 4 speed gearbox please

I've just removed my gearbox and split it down to replace the bearings and oil seals but I've bumped in to something which I hope can be answered by someone more experienced than me. The two bearings which fit on the main gear wheel shaft have a groove cut in to the outer face in to which fits a hal...
