SJ410 engine dip stick
I know this is a simplistic question but it's bugging me. I feel that there is something missing with the way that my engine dipstick is fitted. Basically it drops straight in to engine block hole which is chamfered but the rubber/plastic gripping thing on the stick does not grip adequately so it's ...

Re: SJ410 (1988 Japanese) low oil pressure switch wiring
Solved my own problem - I managed to find a wiring diagram online and the missing wire appears to be yellow with a black trace and is just a straight run (no connectors) from the pressure switch to the the back of the instrument panel.
Well done to me!

Re: SJ410 (1988 Japanese) low oil pressure switch wiring
Hi Ian. It should run on the front of the engine, ontop of the rocker cover. Henry Thanks Henry The engine is at a machine shop at the moment having a rebore etc and the vehicle itself is at a local garage who will lift the block back in and bolt it to the gearbox on its completion (I have no means...

SJ410 (1988 Japanese) low oil pressure switch wiring
My oil pressure switch has no cable to it but it may be tucked away somewhere in a loom - can anyone advise please what the colour coding is for this single wire so I can have a poke around. Also, assuming that the wire does not exist for some reason, if I connect a cable to the switch, how do I con...

Re: is my sj spanish or jap?
My 410 is Japanese and the Vin Plate starts with VJ. So I assume the "J" means Japanese and if it's an "S" it's Spanish.

Re: SJ410 Carb Heating Pipe
the warm air pipe you refer to,, does this, when you start a cold engine, the heat from the exhaust manifold is feed up though (drawn by induction) the alloy pipe, into the air box, then the warm air is sucked into the induction system as fuel/air mixture to help the engine warm quicker and prevent...

SJ410 PCV Valve
Just having a general "read up" on different things members have asked about as I'm new on the scene and I bumped in to someone asking about their engine oil burning problems. One of the inputs was talk about a PCV Valve used to assist in the burning of oil fumes and the possibility of it ...

I feel a bit of a fraud having just joined the Club and already posing a question. But before I ask my question I note that a number of items or queries I've already posted on Difflock are listed in the Subject space - I just typed in SJ410 and up they came! So apologies if you have seen this questi...
