Re: Door not closing right? Stiff window winder? LOOK HERE!
Thanks to inheriting my late father's tool kit, I do have an impact screwdriver, so thanks for that advice. I mean the flat strip of rubber above the door handle that is suposed to stop water running down inside the door - clips are mentioned in the picture guide, are these liable to break? I guess ...

Re: Door not closing right? Stiff window winder? LOOK HERE!
Although not in the same league as you guys that seem to be able to completely rebuild an SJ, I am slowly working my way through the refurb jobs on my 1985 SJ413. Having done the front and back, I am turning my attention to the doors. The above guide is brilliant, but I still have a question about t...

Re: Door not closing right? Stiff window winder?
This is really helpful to a novice mechanic like me - I now feel confident about taking my doors to bits - Thanks. One quick question - I had the seals replaced a while ago and they are fine but the plastic strip on the outside of the door has gone quite crusty. I would like to replace it -any idea ...

Register of SJs
Many years ago (probably about twenty) I saw an almost identical SJ413 as mine in Bournmouth - soft top, metalic grey and only one character difference on the Reg. Mine is C553DKL and this one I think was C553DKK. This got me wondering whether this (almost twin) brother of my car still exists and if...

Removal of 1985 SJ413 front & rear bumper (and front grill)
I need to remove the front bumper on my 1985 SJ413 (soft top) to patch it up and respray (see photo)- my son drove it into a ditch in France. It appears that that are only four bolts holding it on - is that correct? Are there any hints/tips, things that I should be aware of when removing it? I also ...

Re: Leaking/disconnected windscreen washer hose
Windscreen duly folded down - very straightforward as described, part of dash popped-off by wiper moter - as expected, washer pipe trimmed and re-attached. Everything now working as it should. Rubber seals still in pretty good nick especially considering this little SJ has spent all it's life outsid...

Re: Leaking/disconnected windscreen washer hose
Here are some pics on my beloved SJ413 in SW France in 2009. I know the ribbons/bows look a bit cissy, but we went to a mates wedding. PS not all the kids are mine.

Re: Leaking/disconnected windscreen washer hose
Hi sorry, Its a 1985 SJ413 soft top that I have owned for 25 years. The windscreen has never been folded down - is there anything that I should be wary of ? Thanks everyone for advice. This site is brilliant. I will post some pics of my last trip to SW France in 2009.

Leaking/disconnected windscreen washer hose
If I use the windscreen washer, the pump works, but no water comes out of the jets - I have checked the jets and they are clear. Water then drips into the car. My assumption is that the hose has become disconnected from behind the jets - but how on earth do you get to it ? I have scoured my service ...
